One of our teachers, Tyler Supalla, will be competing in a full Ironman on Oct. 14 in Louisville, KY consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run. Additionally, instead of having the focus of the race be on himself, he wants this race to be about competing for others, for his friends, family, and students. Support Tyler on his journey by donating to the St. John Bosco Memorial Scholarship!
Tyler says “First, I want to offer up each bit of the training for others. I truly believe in the power of prayer and that Christ has given us the opportunity to unite any and all suffering to the redemptive power of His cross and resurrection. And that’s where I humbly ask for your prayer intentions. Throughout the next three months, I want to be incredibly intentional about offering up my training and physical pain each day as a prayer for those who have any petitions. Be it as small as “my dog, Rex” (don’t get me wrong, dogs are fantastic!), or as big as asking for the miraculous healing of your spouse’s cancer; I want all the intentions I can get. Seriously, your intentions motivate me and increase my own interior life!”
Lastly, Tyler has set a goal of raising $10,000 to provide a St. John Bosco Memorial scholarship to students in need at St. James Academy. He has created this scholarship to commemorate all of the work St. John Bosco did to educate and care for poor boys throughout his lifetime. Tyler has been teaching at St. James for the past three years, and he expressed how he has been “consistently amazed at how integrated the Gospel is at all levels of the school whether that be from the leadership of the administrators and teachers, or the students and their own initiatives to discover and live in the love of Christ. I want to do all I can to help students attend St. James Academy and to encounter the love that God has for them.” If you’re able to support these students by donating to this scholarship fund, he would be so grateful! $10, $100, or a simple petition. Honestly, anything would be a great gift… All donations are 100% tax deductible. You can donate via cash, check, Venmo (@StJamesAcademy), or online.
Thanks for the support!
