General Guidelines

1. Applications must be received by St. James Academy by no later than the close of school on February 1, 2018. Scholarship winners will be notified of results by February 12, 2018.

2. St. James Academy reserves the right to select the panel of judges for review of applications and the decision of the judges is final. If no one is deemed qualified for the scholarship, the scholarship will not be granted.

3. Should the panel of judges contact pastors/principals/teachers or others who might be of assistance in the selection of the scholarship recipient, those phone calls and the information obtained remain confidential and will not be disclosed.

4. The panel of judges will determine the winner of the scholarship and also a runner-up in the event the scholarship is declined by the first designated winner. No other priority listing will be developed.

5. Scholarship recipients must finish the 8th grade year as a “student in good standing”.

6. Scholarship values will be applied to the first semester of the Freshman year at St. James. There is no cash value for this scholarship in lieu of being applied to first-semester tuition and there is no cash value for this tuition credit should the student withdraw from St. James Academy.

7. If the scholarship winner fails to enroll at St. James Academy by March 8, 2018, the scholarship will be forfeited and no secondary candidate will be considered. If, prior to June 30, 2018, the designated winner notifies the school of his/her intent to enroll at a school other than St. James, the administration will offer the scholarship to the next alternate candidate based on the judges’ determination.
